Purchase Upcoming ASCA Webinars
On Tuesday, June 4, at 1:00 pm ET, ASCA hosted a webinar titled “Does Your Infection Prevention Plan Include the Right Strategies for Your Patients?” Marion Sylvia, RN, infection control preventionist at Bluffton Okatie Surgery Center in Okatie, South Carolina, discussed how to create a proactive infection prevention (IP) plan based on a comprehensive infection control (IC) risk assessment. Registrants returned home with the know-how needed to conduct an IC risk analysis that can help improve the effectiveness of an IP plan by better prioritizing prevention strategies.
On Tuesday, July 9, at 1:00 pm ET, Matt Kilton, associate principal, and Jeff Hignite, senior manager, at ECG Management Consultants will present “How to Negotiate Managed Care Contracts Successfully.” They will provide practical advice on assessing existing managed care agreements, determining how and when to engage payers and preparing and submitting effective proposals.
Attendees receive one nursing contact hour and one unit of AEU credit for each webinar. The June 4 webinar also offers one infection prevention contact hour for the Certified Ambulatory Infection Preventionist credential.
Both webinars are included in the 2019 Webinar All-Access Pass, a package that includes the recordings and live events for all 16 webinars scheduled for this year.

Make Plans to Celebrate National ASC Month
In August, ASCs around the country will celebrate National ASC Month. Congress is in recess during August, so it is the perfect time host a facility tour for your representatives and open houses for the media and members of your community.
Hosting policymakers in your facility creates personal connections that can directly affect ASC-related legislation and regulations. These events raise the profile of ASCs, help educate the public about the highquality care ASCs offer and can secure support for ASCs during key policy-making deliberations. For more information, visit ASCA's National ASC Month page.
